LETTER: Citizens’ support has ‘meant the world’ to John Sigwart

To Ozaukee Press:

      This is addressed to all of the loyal 7th District constituents of Port Washington who have supported John Sigwart as alderman since 2017. Your confidence in his abilities and your friendships have meant the world to him.    

     Since his days as city engineer and public works director in the 1970s, John was willing and eager to answer questions, listen to concerns and provide as much information about the city as possible. We hope you felt that you could ask him, as your alderman, any questions, that he was transparent in his responses to you and, above all, that you could trust him to do right by you and Port.

     Despite his current health issues, John was still willing to represent you and the city that he loves so dearly, which has always been a priority to him. Removal from certain committees by the Common Council made it difficult for him to represent you as you deserve and, ultimately, he made the difficult decision to step away.

     John will continue to stay informed on the issues facing Port and do what he can to support you. If you see him around town, please say hello, as you mean so much to him.
