LETTER: Candidates in next high court race should shun mega donors
It’s not too early to talk about the April 2026 state elections, as Wisconsinites will again elect a state Supreme Court Justice. Not too early because two candidates are in the race, and majority-party legislators are already fundraising off fear of judicial rulings on partisan Congressional voting maps.
Now is the time for the candidates and political parties to call off mega donors, irrelevant scary ads and endorsements from law enforcement. Please spare us!
Use this time to educate voters on the role of the state Supreme Court, while restoring voter confidence in judicial impartiality and constitutional separation of powers.
