LETTER: Best reason to vote for GOP is our ‘disgraceful’ governor

To Ozaukee Press:

We all must take a look at the people we want to put into office, what one party or the other stands for and how will they run things. To vote for Biden and other Democrats would be the mistake of your lifetime.

I am not, however, going to bash Biden to persuade people to vote Republican. I am going to use something a little closer to home—our disgraceful governor. His actions and inactions are slowly destroying the state. His nonstop shutdown of our economy is destroying lives and jobs. If this continues much longer, many restaurants and small businesses will be gone forever. Walmart, McDonalds and giant retailers will still be here, but little guys will be gone. That could include this very newspaper. Build Back Better will not happen if people are restricted to 25% of their normal income.

Perhaps the most disgraceful thing under Evers reign is the unemployment compensation that is not being paid. Thousands of people are still waiting to receive money due them since March. Some are owed well over $10,000.

To be fair, no one expected the mass rush for benefits, so the initial delay was understandable. However, seven months later people still wait.

People are losing their cars and homes and digging into life savings to survive.
Only about 1% of calls to the Department of Workforce development are being answered. Remember back in August when Trump approved an extra $300 per week unemployment? While many other states have passed that money on, Wisconsin still hasn’t. The DWD website states that they are programming computers for this and should be done by November.

Out of unemployment compensation? Too bad, our Democratic governor doesn’t seem to care, This is what Democratic leadership brings.         

If this is how you want to be treated by Democrats, then go ahead and vote for them. But please don’t come crying later when you realize your mistake.
