LETTER: Andraca will not put politics over people as Jim Ott does

To Ozaukee Press:

As a mother and grandmother, I have cast my vote for Deb Andraca for Wisconsin Assembly District 23. I am pleased to see, at this time in history, more women are feeling the call to public service. They bring a perspective we need to male-dominated politics. I can verify that many men sincerely agree.

After a diverse work background, Deb Andraca went back to school to get a teaching degree. It was while substitute teaching in the third grade that she experienced a lockdown drill with her frightened young students.

Anguished about the first-graders at Sandy Hook Elementary, Andraca attempted a dialogue with her assemblyman, asking Jim Ott to address popular common-sense gun laws as a factor in gun violence. With two daughters of her own, she is further concerned about the imminent crisis of climate change and expressed to Ott this urgency for Wisconsin to address it.

After no response to her fears for our children, Deb Andraca made the decision to run for Jim Ott’s seat. Deb is educated and well-spoken. The stale and outdated “politics over people” is no longer wanted or relevant to voters—including good Republicans. Seven terms is enough. Let’s get a fresh perspective. Vote for Deb Andraca.
