LETTER: After dubious impeachment, House takes undeserved break

To Ozaukee Press:

Articles of impeachment have been passed. The witnesses testified in private and then selective interpretations were leaked. Rebuttal witnesses were not allowed. Hearsay witnesses were deemed to be more important than direct witnesses. This is in contrast to prior impeachment hearings, which the public was actually allowed to observe and reach individual conclusions.

Move the impeachment to the Senate and allow the trial to get underway. Thereby allowing the House of Representatives to actually accomplish something other than taking a long recess intended to give them time to rehearse their re-election campaign speeches and take “foreign fact-finding” junkets at public expense. This while drawing an inordinate salary with exorbitant retirement benefits and a private medical plan to which ordinary citizens have no access.
