LETTER: Before adding new sidewalks fix broken ones we now have
To Ozaukee Press:
Eight years have passed since I asked the City of Port Washington for one sidewalk square to be repaired.
People, often including children, use this sidewalk every day, and now it is sinking and the damage has expanded to a four-square-long area that is cracked. It was marked two years ago, but still nothing. What about liability when someone stumbles and falls?
Some Port Washington residents don’t want sidewalks in their neighborhoods. Here’s an idea: Take the money that would be spent on those sidewalks and use it to repair sidewalks that are dangerously deteriorated.
