LETTER: ‘Remarkable photos’ capture the spirit of our communities

To Ozaukee Press:

There are so many worthwhile articles and photos in Ozaukee Press each week. The front cover photo of the Nov. 17 edition was especially appropriate for Thanksgiving.

The neat photo by Sam Arendt showed James Adams enjoying a Thanksgiving meal provided by the Saukville Community Food Pantry at Parkside Community Church, with help from Lumen Christi’s St. Vincent de Paul Society and the parish’s Girl Scout troop.

The photography in the Press, besides the newspaper’s excellent news reporting, is especially remarkable, not only the work of chief photographer Sam Arendt, but also by editor-in-the-chief Bill Schanen IV and, in the sports section, by sports editor Mitch Maersch.

Mitch’s byline also appears with the Good Living cover feature, and his recent story about Mary Limbach, the Episcopal priest who has devoted her life to caring for foster children, was truly inspiring.

So during this Thanksgiving week, I give thanks for Ozaukee Press.
