Legion honors longtime members, future leader

Members of the Warren Kane American Legion Post in Fredonia gathered last week to honor those who have dedicated decades to the organization and hear from a future leader. Receiving certificates for 50 years of continuous membership in the Legion were (top) Eugene Meyer, Bob Weyker, Mike Berry and Harry Michaels. Weyker also received a plaque recognizing the 45 years he has served as post adjutant (middle). The guest of honor was Mason Thill (bottom), who told Legion members about his experience at Badger Boys State, the mock government program for high school students held annually at Ripon College. Thill, who was sponsored by the Fredonia Legion post, posed with Ron Lanser, Weyker and Joe Schneider. Photos by Sam Arendt
