Legion honors all who have served, remembers three who have passed

The Landt-Thiel American Legion Post honored those who have served their country in the military as well as three of its deceased members during a Nov. 11 Veterans Day program at its clubhouse in Saukville. Speaking during the program was Post Commander Denise Jamrozy (top left photo). Legion member Don Race Jr. led those in attendance in the Pledge of Allegiance (middle left). The Post honored three of its deceased members — Thomas Paul, Clarence Miller Sr. and Louis Gruman — during a Post Everlasting Ceremony by reading resolutions honoring them. One copy of the resolutions was presented to their next of kin while the other was burned in a gold helmet by Post Chaplain Darlene Garay (top right). Then at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, Legion members offered a rifle salute followed by taps played by bugler Tom Wieman.    Photos by Bill Schanen IV
