Tour of America’s Dairyland seeks input from cycling community about changing competition dates

The Tour of America’s Dairyland’s 11-day, 11-race bicycle tour in Southeast Wisconsin may go on as scheduled, but organizers are asking competitors and others involved about what to do if the coronavirus affects the season.

This year’s tour runs from June 18 to 28. The Giro d’Grafton, scheduled for June 20, is the third tour stop.

Tour organizers sent an email with a link to a survey about the season.

“As of today (April 4), we remain committed to having a safe and great ToAD,” the email said.

The survey asks when people need to be notified if the season is rescheduled to July 30 to August 9.

Choices include immediately, April 15, May 1 and an option to cancel the season.

The survey also asks what cities people are coming from.

ToAD started in 2009 when cycling enthusiasts in the Milwaukee area started a five-day road cycling race, and it grew from there. Each year, 1,100 men and women pro and amateur athletes from across the world participate, with an average of 450 competitors each day.
