Last day of Christmas tree pick up is Jan. 23

Saukville began picking up Christmas trees left at curbs on Monday, Jan. 16, and will make a final sweep of the village on Monday, Jan. 23.

All decorations, including wires, tinsel and lights should be removed, and trees cannot be bagged or wrapped.

Trees should be placed curbside no earlier than 24 hours before the day of pickup and no later than 6:30 a.m. the day of.

If it snows, homeowners are asked to clear the trees.

Trees should not be put out for regular trash pickup because Waste Management does not collect them.

Disposal of trees after the pickup days is the responsibility of homeowners.

The village is also reminding residents that they have until the end of March to renew licenses for their dogs and cats. A late fee is charged for licenses renewed after March 31.

Village residents are required to license their dogs and cats that are older than six months.

Proof of current rabies vaccinations is required.

The cost of dog licenses is $8 for those that are spayed and neutered and $10 if they are not.

Cat licenses are $5 for those that are spayed or neutered and $7 for those that are not.

The late fee is $5 for dog licenses and $3 for cat licenses.

Licenses may be purchased at Village Hall, via mail or by dropping off the payment and rabies certificate at the Village Hall drop box. Do not pay by cash.
