Lake breeze had flags flying in Port for Memorial Day

The phrase “cooler near the lake” is often uttered with disdain, but on Monday, a brisk Lake Michigan breeze made for a nice respite from otherwise sweltering weekend temperatures and had flags standing proud for Port Washington’s Memorial Day observance. Boy Scouts carried a large flag along Franklin Street on their way to Veterans Park for a ceremony.                                                   Photo by Bill Schanen IV
