Ozaukee High School’s multi-state medalist in the shot put Paige Kurlinski set a personal record in the event at the Pam Kjono Invite in Manitowoc on March 28.

Kurlinski’s throw of 39 feet, 11.5 inches won the event.

“We are looking forward to seeing how much more Paige can increase her shot put distance once we get to outdoor season,” coach Andrew Pfeuffer said.

Helen Utecht also placed in shot put in her first varsity meet. Her throw of 31-1 took seventh.

“Throws will continue to be a strong point for the Warriors this season, and we are excited to get our teams throwing discus soon as well,” Pfeuffer said.

Madison Glaeser was sixth in the 1,600-meter run in 6 minutes, 10.6 seconds, and seventh in the 800 in 2:50.83.

Ieva Juodeikis was seventh in the high jump by clearing 4-6.

The girls scored 18.5 points and finished 11th of 12 teams. Manitowoc Lincoln won with 112.

Schueller, Schubert pace the boys

The Ozaukee boys got first places from Brice Schueller and Nick Schubert on their way to 46 points and sixth place in the Earl Hebert Invite in Manitowoc on March 27.

Schueller won the 1,600 in 4:51.38 and Schubert the 3,200 in 10:38.21.

“Both Brice and Nick ran great tactical races to win their respective events,” Pfeuffer said.

Jack Lentz was third in shot put with 45-8.
