KUDOS: A Chili Bowl full of tasty fun

To Ozaukee Press:
What a wonderful day we had last Sunday for our fifth annual Port Chili Bowl. Neither the pandemic nor Wisconsin winter weather could deter the more than 150 people who traveled from as far away as West Bend to sample and vote online for their favorite chili.
Thanks to a generous sponsorship by Port Washington State Bank (PWSB) and fine chili from Tello’s, Java Dock, Beanies, Smith Bros. Coffee House, Yummy Bones and Inventor’s Brew Pub, the annual event (as modified for safety) was again a fun time for the participants. The raffle basket supported by 20 local merchants added to festivities.
Community support was awesome as vehicles lined up on East Main Street for curbside pickup. We thank the Port Street Department and PWSB maintenance staff for providing safe access for the event.
We appreciate the patience of all who participated, along with the time and energy volunteered by the Kiwanis members and high school students, making this a truly successful community event.
