To Ozaukee Press:
On Feb. 1, the Greater Port Washington Kiwanis Club held its 10th annual Port Chili Bowl. With nine local establishments participating, this year’s event offered plenty of competition. Thank you to all who came out in the cold and participated.
Voted Best Chili overall was Lucky Devils Bar and Grill, which participated in its first Chili Bowl.
Additional sponsors for this year’s event included Ansay & Associates, Port Washington State Bank and Harter’s Lakeside Disposal.
Proceeds from the Chili Bowl go to support club activities, including the Hippity Hop Easter Egg Hunt, scholarships for Port Washington High School students, Badger Boys and Girls State and Scouting projects.
The event was the brainchild of the late John Sigwart, who had been in Kiwanis since 1988, served as club president three times and was dedicated to our mission of improving the world one child and one community at a time.
