Kasza-James wins

Port Washington High School senior Emma Kasza-James left her prep mountain biking career as king of the hills.

She won the race at Nordic Mountain in Wild Rose last weekend by three and a half minutes. It was her fourth straight victory.

Kasza-James competes in the U.S. MTB Marathon Nationals in Maryland on Oct. 23.

Port placed 10th in Division 2 in the meet.

For the varsity boys, Kaden Kopp was 14th. In freshman boys, Brenna Shuster was 14th, Griffin Sheriff was 24th, Finnegan Pashak was 25th and Charlie Nowak was 27th. Beckett Schuster was fifth among sixth-grade boys. Leena Suddendorf was ninth and Vera Harris 12th in middle school girls.  Samantha Madden of Ozaukee County Composite was 15th among seventh-grade girls.
