June programs at Riveredge announced
Riveredge Nature Center in the Town of Saukville will hold an art sale from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 15, and Saturday, June 22.
Items to be sold include a wide variety of art prints featuring nature scenes.
The art won’t be priced. People are asked to pay what they can in a donation to the center.
Other June activities at Riveredge include “Birding by Ear,” a stroll with a naturalist from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, June 13.
Participants will hike to some of the center’s birding hot spots and practice identifying birds by their calls as well as by sight.
Those attending are asked to bring their binoculars or borrow a pair from the center.
The free program is for people 18 and older. Participants are asked to register in advance for the hike.
A neurodiverse and disability nature group will meet from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15.
The group is intended to help neurodivergent and disabled people find community and connect with others on a similar journey while they experience nature and the sensory calm it provides.
The free program is for people 18 and older. Participants are asked to register in advance.
Parent and grandparent treks, including tree climbing and tubing, will be held on several dates in June.
Adults and children ages 7 and older may team up for tree climbing with trained facilitators at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 13, and for tubing on the Milwaukee River at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 20, and Friday, June 28.
The cost for the tubing programs is $10 for Riveredge members and $15 for nonmembers.
The tree climbing is $30 for center members and $40 for nonmembers.
