Job fair doubles participants

Kyote’s Bar & Grill owner Kevin Simpson handed an application to Dakota Peiffer of Belgium at last month’s job fair at Cedar Grove-Belgium High School.

The fair, organized by the Belgium Area Chamber of Commerce, filled 42 booths, more than double the number from last year, Chamber Director of Marketing Tara Williams said.

Some businesses were expected to fill positions as a result of the fair, which was held right after a career fair for high school students.

“We were excited to be able to show our high school students the variety and quantity of local jobs and careers that are available right in our own back yards,” Williams said.
