Job of city administrator attracts 71 applicants

Seventy-one people from throughout the United States applied to become Port Washington’s next city administrator by last Friday’s deadline.

“I was very excited about all the interest,” Emily Blakeslee, the city’s human resources director and assistant city administrator, said. “I think Port Washington is going to be in good hands.”

Blakeslee said the candidates came from as far away as Alaska and Hawaii, although the bulk of the applicants hail from the Midwest.
