It’s down to four candidates for WIAA executive director

The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Board of Control has narrowed its pool to four candidates for the executive director position, after Dave Anderson announced in December he will retire at the end of July.

The candidates remaining include two members of the executive staff and two who have experience on the association’s Board of Control.

The two staff candidates are Deputy Director Wade Labecki and Assistant Director Stephanie Hauser. The two with board experience are Scott Winch, superintendent at Stratford; and Luke Francois, superintendent/business manager at Waterford Union.

Second interviews will be conducted April 15, and the next executive director is expected to be introduced at the annual meeting on May 26. A portion of the interview with each candidate will be video recorded and available for viewing on the WIAA website.

The WIAA is a voluntary, unincorporated and nonprofit organization. The membership oversees interscholastic athletic programs for 515 senior high schools and 48 junior high or middle schools in its membership.
