Hoopman to step down
Chad Hoopman will leave the School Board this summer when he moves to Florida.
The longtime board president will be moving with his wife in June.
“We always loved the Gulf Coast and knew we wanted to get there someday. The timing is right to step down in June from the School Board as well,” Hoopman said.
“We have a really great board, and that includes our past members that I’ve worked with, too. The district is in a very good place to continue being successful.”
Hoopman said he will work remotely, managing power distribution programs to the U.S. Navy for its ships and submarines.
Hoopman would still like to help out with the wrestling program, and he and his wife are Green Bay Packers season ticket holders so they will return for games.
On Monday, Jeremy Spriggs was chosen to be the board president. Other officers remained the same —Nancy Niebauer is vice president, Kurt Kraus is clerk and Lori Gruell is treasurer.
Spriggs, a plant manager at Kleen Test Products Corp. in Port Washington who has two children in the district, was appointed last May and elected in April, running unopposed.
Spriggs has a bachelor of business administration degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
