Hometown heroes:

Three Cedar Grove natives or residents win Holland Fest races; Johnson wins two-mile contest

Cedar Grove residents or natives won three of four races Saturday in the village’s annual Holland Fest run.

Aaron Viets, 29, won the 10-kilometer race in 33 minutes, 43 seconds.

Kiera Depies, a Cedar Grove-Belgium High School 2012 graduate and running star now living in Verona, won the women’s 10K in 42:14.

Joe Johnson, 28, of Chicago won the 2-mile race in 11:19.

Faith Konzak, 14, of Cedar Grove defended her women’s two-mile title in 13:33.

More than 300 runners competed and, including the two-mile walk, more than 400 people participated.
