Highway 33 closed in Newburg through Oct. 2
Highway 33 will remain closed in Newburg through Friday, Oct. 2, to allow work to be completed on the bridge over the Milwaukee River.
The highway was closed at the bridge beginning Monday, Sept. 14.
The bridge will be closed to all traffic. Through traffic will be rerouted along Highway M and Main Street in Newburg. Local traffic will be allowed up to the road closure at the bridge.
The bridge deck will be repaired and overlaid, and the bridge approach pavement will be overlaid, according to the state Department of Transportation website.
The construction schedule is weather dependent, the DOT stated.
