HBSB to hold slew of summer events
Harrington Beach State Park in the Town of Belgium has a host of events for children and adults this summer.

• Nature Detectives will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturdays, May 25, June 8, June 22, July 6 and 27 and Aug. 24.
Master naturalist Tom Lentz will lead children in the Wisconsin Explorer Program that entails completing a required number of activities in one of three age-appropriate books (ages 3 to 5, 6 to 8 or 9 and older) to earn a patch.
The programs include a hike and a craft.
People are asked to meet at the Puckett’s Pond picnic area.
• Bird’s the Word will be held Monday, May 27, Sunday, June 2, and Mondays, June 17, July 8 and Aug. 19.
All times are from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. except Sunday June 2, which is from 7 to 8 a.m.
Master naturalist Bonnie Lunde takes attendees through the park’s trails looking for birds on the prairies, lakes, swamps, ponds and woodlands. Attendees will also learn apps to help identify birds.
The program starts at the Puckett’s Pond shelter.
Binoculars and cameras are encouraged.
