Growing Under Cover: Techniques for a more productive, weather-resistant and pest-free vegetable garden

"Growing Under Cover: Techniques for a more productive, weather-resistant and pest-free vegetable garden" will be presented by Niki Jabbour during a 7 p.m. Thursday, April 22, program sponsored by the Ozaukee Master Gardeners. Jabbour will share her secrets to growing more food, reducing pest problems and dealing with unpredictable weather in vegetable gardening, spotlighting a wide variety of season extenders like shade cloth, row cover, cold frames and polytunnels and demonstrate how to use garden covers to prevent damage from deer, flea beetles and cabbageworms. She will also discuss some of the unique vegetables she grows. Jabbour is a Halifax-based author of four innovative vegetable gardening books and a two-time winner of the prestigious American Horticultural Society Book Award. She is the host and producer of the long running radio show The Weekend Gardener. Her writing can also be found in magazines like Fine Gardening and Birds & Blooms. She is the co-owner of SavvyGardening.com. To register for the program, visit bit.ly/JabbourOMG.
