Grisar, Lanser take Land Regatta titles

A couple of familiar names won the big races at Be3’s annual Land Regatta Run/Walk last Saturday in Port Washington.

Saukville’s Brett Grisar, 19, a former standout runner for Port Washington High School’s cross country and track and field teams, won the men’s 5-kilometer race in 18 minutes, 27 seconds.

Grisar will run for the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.

Julie Lanser, 25, of Belgium won the women’s race in 20:52. She won the annual Frebeka 5 race held each June in Fredonia for four years straight.

Two Grafton runners won the two-mile races.

Trevor Will, 30, won the men’s race in 11:47.

Jamie Karrels, 25, won the women’s race in 14:00.

A total of 279 timed and untimed runners and walkers participated. A kids run was held as well.

Proceeds went to pay for the Port Washington beer garden stage.
