Grafton Parks and Rec to host outdoor youth activities

    The Grafton Parks and Recreation Department is offering a number of activities for youths this summer.
    From 5 to 6 p.m. Monday, July 6, to Friday, July 10, youngsters ages 6 through 16 can participate in a junior golf program at the Bog Golf Club in the Town of Saukville. Participants will be introduced to golf fundamentals from PGA certified instructors Andy Runkel and Chris Van Pietersom.
    Those who are interested in attending should register online. The fee is $99.
    From 4:30 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from July 1 through 30, children can participate in the Ozaukee Youth Track Club at Grafton High School’s track. Youngsters can participate in events such as sprints, hurdles, relays, jumps and throws. Instructor Kevin Kriegal will also teach nutrition, proper stretching and strength training. There will be no sessions on July 21 and 22.
    Registration is required and the fee is $45, which includes a T-shirt.
    Children in grades two through eight can learn archery at the lower level of Lime Kiln Park Tuesdays and Thursdays from July 7 to 23.
    Instruction will include the basics of shooting, range equipment for target shooting and hunting. Equipment will be provided. Personal archery equipment must be approved by the instructor.
    The session for children in grades two through four will be from 5 to 6 p.m. and the session for children in grades five through eight will be from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m.
    The fee is $31 for Grafton residents and $42 for nonresidents. Those interested must register online.
    Grafton Parks and Recreation has partnered with Challenger Sports to offer a soccer camp at Centennial Park from July 27 through 31 to provide players of all ages the opportunity to receive coaching from international experts.
    Each camp includes a variety of foot skills, drills and coached scrimmages. Camp includes a free soccer ball and T-shirt. Those who register online prior to June 27 will receive a free soccer jersey.
    The Tiny Tykes session for ages 3 to 5 will be from 8 to 9 a.m. The fee is $94.
    Half-day camps are separated by ages 6 to10 and 11 to 14 and run from 9:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The fee is $145. Register online at www.challengersports.com.
