Grafton Girl Scouts flock senior community

Girl Scout Troop 8098 set up more than 100 plastic flamingos outside the Berkshire Grafton senior apartment community last week to remind residents that they were being thought of on Mother’s Day weekend. The group is made up of juniors at Grafton High School, including (from left) Emily Gibson, Tela Gehrke, Alix Schmidt, Katie Lindeman, Andrea Vanderloop, Ally Zabel and Taylor Wenten. Co-leader Niki Schmidt said this is the Troop’s fifth flocking season. The Troop sets up the birds to help raise funds for activities and a senior trip to Florida next year. Schmidt said flocking will continue through November. Photo by Sam Arendt
