Grafton athletes to continue athletic careers

Two Grafton High School seniors have signed letters to participate in college athletics.

Linebacker Hawk Heffner (left) will play football at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Joining him at his ceremony were (standing, from left) his brother Brock and parents Christy and Brandon Heffner.

Hawk earned honorable mention honors from the North Shore Conference at outside linebacker last fall. Pitcher Kirsten Krause (above) will play softball for Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Joining her at her ceremony were (standing, from left) her father Ken, sister Brianna, junior varsity coach Connie Paschke, varsity coach Ken Hunt, club coach Mike Earing, mother Tina and varsity assistant coach Mike Bergmann.

Kirsten is looking to bounce back this season after missing last year with a torn ACL.

She helped lead the Black Hawks to the school’s first conference title in 2017 and was named to the all-conference first team.
