Getting to know the Milwaukee River

Several local residents recently donned life jackets and paddles at Waubedonia Park to participate in a Riveredge Nature Center-sponsored excursion on the Milwaukee River. The outing was one in a series of activities to help area residents become more familiar with the river and its ecosystem. Upcoming activities include a Crawfish Catch and Boil Community Potluck at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, at the nature center and a watershed restoration planning meeting from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9, at the Village of Fredonia’s Government Center Board Room.
