Gallery 224 receives matching grant

Gallery 224 has received a matching grant for its fall funding campaign, so every donation received to a maximum $10,000 will be doubled.

The gallery’s fundraising goal is $25,000.

The funds will help the gallery as it moves into 2026, when it plans to rebrand as the Port Washington Center for the Arts, reflecting its growing role in the community, and hire its first executive director.

The gallery also plans to expand its workshops and exhibitions and strengthen partnerships with local businesses, organizations and land partners.

The funds will also be used to finance current programs such as ARTservancy collaboration between the gallery and nature preserves, Studio 224, the gallery itself and community engagement initiatives.
