The floor of Port Washington High School’s new three-court gym, as seen from the commons in the soon-to-be completed central section of the school in the photo above, has been painted, and work continued Monday on bleacher installation. The gym was built below grade on the hill on the south side of the school, and from court level (below), the windows in the commons on the main level of the school can be seen in the background. Most of $45.6 million high school project is on track to be completed next month, which will be cause for celebration. On Thursday, Dec. 13, the 7 p.m. holiday band concert will be preceded by tours and a ribbon cutting to mark the first performance in the renovated performing arts center. A ceremony to officially open the new gym will precede the Jan. 11 coed basketball double-header against Grafton.
