Five Guys to join Chipotle in new Grafton building

If you’re hungry, Grafton will soon have a few more menu choices for you.

The village recently approved conditional use permits for a Five Guys restaurant, as well as a Chipotle, in a new multi-tenant building to be built in front of the Meijer store on Port Washington Road.

The Plan Commission approved the 6,670-square-foot building at 1620 Port Washington Rd., proposed by Alrig USA, in February.

The building, which will be on the south side of the main Meijer driveway, will have three tenants — the two restaurants and a T-Mobile store — and there will be a parking lot with 48 spaces.

Construction of the structure is expected to begin next month, with the building completed in fall.

The tenant spaces will be developed after that, and Community Development Director Jessica Wolff said they could be potentially  be open by the end of the year.

“I think it’ll be nice for the Port Washington Road corridor,” she said.

Five Guys, which is known for its burgers, fries and shakes, will take up the middle 2,715 square feet of the building.

The restaurant is expected to be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, with as many as eight employees working each shift.

The commission previously approved the 2,331-square-foot Chipotle restaurant, which will have a pick-up window.

The restaurant, which will be on the north side of the building, is expected to be open from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. with two shifts of as many as nine workers each.

The 1,622-square-foot T-Mobile store was also approved in February.

The store is expected to be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.
