Fast start is enough for CG-B boys

A 16-point first-half lead for the Cedar Grove-Belgium boys’ basketball team led to a 74-64 win at home over Kohler last Thursday.
Logan Arrowood had 24 points on 9-for-15 shooting, eight rebounds and four assists. Sam Peiffer had 19 points on 8-for-18 shooting, six rebounds, three assists and three steals.
Parker Knight had 16 points on 5-for-8 shooting, eight rebounds and four assists.
Cole Ketterhagen had nine points and went 7-for-9 on free throws. Ethan Aponte had six points.
The Rockets shot 6-for-12 on three-pointers and made 11 steals to the Blue Bombers’ four.
For Kohler, Trey Keller had 18 points. Charlie Roeder had 17 with eight rebounds and four assists. Jalen Paul had 14 points, and Zane Willadsen had 10 points and eight rebounds.
The Rockets, 7-3 overall and 6-2 in the Big East Conference, were to play at Hilbert on Tuesday. They play at Random Lake (1-7 Big East) on Friday and host St. Mary Catholic (6-3 Big East) on Tuesday, Jan. 25.
