Farmers markets abound in Ozaukee County

Ozaukee County is awash in farmers markets, where fresh produce and meats, herbs and flowers are sold alongside food products such as honey, jams and jellies, pet treats and bakery.

Many markets also host local artisans who sell items that include natural soaps, salves and lotions, baskets and a wide variety of crafts.

Live music is also part of the attraction at many of these markets.

Port Washington’s market is held on East Main Street between Franklin and Wisconsin streets from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday from June 18 to Oct. 29.

In Saukville, the market is held Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the street next to historic Veterans Park. The market runs through Oct. 30, but it won’t be held on the Labor Day and Fourth of July weekends.

Grafton’s market, held at Veterans Park next the Milwaukee River, runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursdays July 15 through Sept. 30.

In Thiensville, the market is held at Village Park, 250 Elm St., from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays from June 21 to Oct. 11.
