Farm profitability, soil health subjects of Feb. 10 program

A day-long program on improving soil health and farm profitability will be held in Port Washington on Thursday, Feb. 10.

The program will run from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Country Inn and Suites.

The day begins with a meet-and-greet period followed by a talk by Gabe Brown, a pioneer in the soil health movement.

Brown, an instructor for the Soil Health Academy, will discuss how to integrate pastures, multi-species cover crops and use no-till practices to become more profitable at 10 a.m.

After a luncheon, the Ozaukee County Clean Farm Families will give a presentation, followed by another talk by Brown.

A question-and-answer period will conclude the event.

There is no cost for the program, and lunch is provided.

Reservations are required by Feb. 7.
