Farewell to their spiritual leader

The congregation at St. John Lutheran Church in Port Washington bade farewell to longtime pastor Rev. John Klieve and his wife Charlotte during a luncheon at the church on Sunday, Jan. 30. In addition to his 28 years at St. John’s, where he was installed as pastor on Nov. 21, 1993, Klieve has served parishes in Minnesota, Iowa and elsewhere in Wisconsin during his 35 years in the ministry. Klieve, a native of Ohio, earned his bachelor of arts degree from Concordia Teachers’ College in River Forest, Ill., and a master of divinity degree from Concordia Theology Seminary in Fort Wayne, Ind. He and his wife plan to remain in the area. Pastor Dustin Anderson will now serve St. John’s Congregation, where services are held at 9 a.m. Sundays and 7 p.m. Wednesdays. Photo by Sam Arendt
