High school winter sports are being handled much like the fall seasons were during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Spectator guidelines for the North Shore and Big East conferences are similar in that they limit attendance.

Masks and social distancing are required for everyone.

In the North Shore, passes are issued per athlete for home and away events. Passes are specific to a sport and level, such as varsity or junior varsity.

Admission won’t be charged at any event.

Many events will be live streamed.

Two spectators are allowed at basketball, wrestling and boys’ hockey games. Varsity, junior varsity and junior varsity 2 are considered different events.

Spectators must leave the venue after the event.

For swimming and diving, one immediate family spectator is allowed. No visiting fans are allowed.

West Bend, Hartford, Homestead and Nicolet aren’t allowing any fans because of the size of their venues.

For gymnastics, Hartford, Nicolet and Homestead allow two immediate family spectators for home and away meets.

Port Washington allows two immediate family spectators for home athletes only.

West Bend allows one immediate family spectator for home athletes only.

The guidelines may be changed throughout the season.

In the Big East, fans are limited to two per athlete for all sports. General admission isn’t offered.

Multi-team tournaments in basketball are not recommended, and the WIAA has already prohibited wrestling tournaments.

Dance team performances will be limited to halftime.

No pep bands will be allowed inside gyms or at team and fan areas.

No concessions will be offered at conference events. Water bottles will be allowed.

The regulations will be reviewed by administration on Jan. 15.
