A Family Fun Fall Festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, by the Van Ells-Schanen American Legion Post 82 and its Auxiliary.

The event had originally been set for Oct. 3, but was postponed due to the pandemic.

The festival will include scarecrow building from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Families may bring in clothes and other items to decorate their scarecrow.

Prizes will be awarded in age categories for the most creative and most patriotic scarecrows.

The cost is $1.

A Dogs 2 Dog Tags program will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. The program will highlight the way service dogs are trained and the skills they learn.

Trainers will be on hand to answer questions.

Pumpkin decorating will be done from 1:45 to 2:15 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for the most creative and most patriotic pumpkins. The cost is $1.

There will be a raffle for a Family Fun Fall Basket filled with items that include a family photo, a day at a farm and fall foods.

Those attending the event are asked to leave their dogs home.

The event, held at the Legion Hall, aka Inventors Brewpub, will also feature the sale of Post 82 Centennial Amber.

The event is a fundraiser for Project Bravo, which works to provide veterans with service dogs. Proceeds from the Port event will go toward service dogs for Ozaukee County veterans.

Inventor’s will donate 10% of all food and beverages sold throughout the day to Project Bravo.
