Ex-Capitol cop gets 90 days for child abuse

A former Grafton resident and State Capitol Police officer who was accused of playing games in 2019 with a 16-year-old girl that involved taking off their clothing was sentenced to 90 days in jail last week.

Ozaukee County Circuit Judge Steve Cain withheld a prison sentence for Brett D. Pekera, who according to the Grafton Police Department was a member of the State Capitol Police force when he committed the crime, placed him on probation for three years and ordered him to serve jail time as a condition of probation.
