Elementary school to feature music and art this month

Ozaukee Elementary School will host its annual spring concert and art show Thursday, April 21.

The art show will be in the high school lobby at 5:30 p.m. and feature works from elementary school students.

The concert, “Music Makes the World Go Round,” will begin in the Fine Arts Center at 6:30 p.m. The show will feature the fifth-grade band as well as the third, fourth and fifth-grade choirs. 

Elementary Music Teacher Laura Vorwerk said students will perform songs in various languages along with American classics like “Take Me There, Country Roads” by John Denver.

Another performance is at 2:15 p.m.

The band will be led by Marlen Illg. Art Teacher Mandy Culver worked with students on art pieces throughout the year and Vorwerk directed general music.
