Eighth-grade Rebels advance to semifinal game
The eighth-grade Saukville Rebels youth football team advanced to the semifinal game after a 38-22 victory over Greenfield last Saturday.
Nathan Uselding threw three touchdown passes, two to Ryan Burmesch and another to Connor Snodgrass. Kaden Schumacher added touchdown runs of one and 64 yards.
The defense caused four turnovers and pitched a shutout in the second half to secure the win.
The seventh-grade Rebels were a bit overmatched.
They moved the ball down the field but couldn’t reach the end zone in a 59-0 loss.
The sixth-graders fared better as Mason Sommer took a quarterback keeper 24 yards for a score, Dylan Kirk ran one in from 14 yards, Garett Kawzcynski from seven yards and Aiden Mitchell from 24 yards to give the Rebels a 27-12 victory.
On Saturday, the sixth-graders play at Slinger High School at 10:30 a.m., followed by the eighth-grade semifinal game at noon against Slinger Blue.
The seventh-grade team travels to Kewaskum High School for a 10:30 a.m. game.
