Draft riot is topic for speaker on May 16

“Captain Pabst and the Port Washington Draft Riot” is the topic for the Port Washington Historical Society’s speaker series on Tuesday, May 16.

The 7 p.m. program will be presented by David Zeh, the lead museum assistant at the Pabst Mansion in Milwaukee.

Zeh, who has a bachelor’s degree in history and a master’s degree in public history and museum studies,  specializes in researching late 19th and early 20 century American history as well as the Indigenous mounds of the Midwest.

The presentation will be at the Port Washington State Bank Community Room, 218 E. Washington St.

The program is free for Historical Society members and $5 for nonmembers.
