Dowe, Paulus named 4-H Key Award winners

The Ozaukee County 4-H program awarded two Key Awards this year to Rebecca Dowe and Philip Paulus.
Dowe is an 11-year 4-H member and a member of the Knellsville 4-H Club.
She has been active in the New Family Fairgrounds Tour and the Ozaukee County 4-H Ambassadors program, was a youth representative with the Leader’s Association and was vice president.
On a state level, she participated at the State Fair Clothing Revue and in fair demonstrations, was an Art Camp counselor and was a participant at the Madison Youth Conference.
Nationally, Dowe was a 4-H Trend Spotter, a Citizenship Washington Focus trip participant, and an American Spirit Trip participant.
In the summer of 2019, she was a delegate to the International 4-H Youth Exchange and traveled to Japan.
Dowe is a Port Washington High School graduate and a sophomore at Carthage College in Kenosha, pursuing a degree in physics.
Paulus also is an 11-year 4-H member and is a member of the Waubeka 4-H Club. He has been involved in projects such as The Haunt and 4-H summer camp and was the 2018-2019 Mr. Ozaukee, representing the Ozaukee County 4-H program.
At the state level, Paulus attended Space Camp, the Wisconsin 4-H Youth Conference, was selected for the American Spirit Experience Eastern and Western States trip,and attended the Citizenship Washington Focus trip.
Paulus is a 2020 graduate of Ozaukee High School, where he participated in baseball, wrestling, the bowling club and robotics. He is employed at RAM Tools Inc. in Grafton and plans to attend Moraine Park Technical College to pursue becoming a CNC machine operator.
The Key Award is the highest honor that is presented by the Wisconsin 4-H Program. Key Award recipients are exemplary 4-H members who have demonstrated outstanding achievement throughout their 4-H experience.
Key Award candidates often demonstrate outstanding leadership skills, participate in numerous community service opportunities, demonstrate innovative thinking and seek “to make the best better.”
