Donna Riemer

Donna Jean Riemer passed away on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019, at Harbor Club where she had been a resident for several years.
Donna was born in western Wisconsin on Aug. 22, 1935, to Donald and Frances Webster.
Donna grew up in Shorewood and attended school in Whitefish Bay. She also attended Stephen’s College in Missouri from 1953 to 1955.
She was united in marriage to Bill Riemer on Jan. 19, 1957, in Fox Point. In 1960, Donna and Bill moved to a farm just outside of Waubeka, where they called home for the next 18 years.
Donna was employed by the Ozaukee County Treasurer’s Office and Highway Department for many years.
Donna enjoyed being active playing bridge, golfing, fishing and especially traveling. Her passport included all continents except for South America. In addition to traveling with her friends, Paul and Jackie were graciously given opportunities to travel to Africa, Asia, Costa Rica and Canada. These memories will be cherished forever.
In her spirit of generosity, she prioritized helping those less fortunate. She sponsored a child in Haiti for many years, gave monetary contributions to the City of Port Washington to purchase four defibrillators for their squad cars and contributed generously to the annual Flag Day firework sdisplay.
Time spent with family was important as well as time spent socializing with friends through the Red Hat Society and Port Washington’s Women’s Guild. Donna enjoyed volunteering her time with Interfaith and Advocates and assisted with the Port Washington Food Pantry, where she served on their board.
Donna is survived by her children Paul Riemer of West Bend and Jackie (Frank) Nelson of Colorado. She is further survived by nieces and nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband Bill and sister Gale.
