Ditch unruly daylilies in favor of other easy-care flowers

The most ubiquitous and perhaps controversial flower of summer is in full bloom in front yards and on roadsides, appearing as a steady stream of orange that either makes you smile or cringe.

You don’t need to be a gardener to immediately recognize orange daylilies (Hemerocallis fulva), but your opinion of them is obvious from what you call them. If you know them as “ditch lilies” you probably detest them.
