Discovering ‘Murmurs from the Deep’

Members of the Port Washington Historical Society, including (top photo, from left) Kathy and Todd Gordon and Diana Verheyen, gathered at the Port Exploreum Friday, March 22, for the opening reception of the museum’s newest exhibit, “Murmurs From the Deep.”

The exhibit centers on the shipwrecks off the shore of Ozaukee County, from the Niagara, which sank in 1856, to the Linda E., the last fishing tug kept in Port Washington, which was run over and sank in 1998.

It also includes an exhibit on Port native Roger Erdmann, a noted Coast Guard captain.

Looking at some of the artifacts in the exhibit were (inset photo, from right) Mary Flierl and Elaine Nulph.
