The Port Washington High School girls’ swim team lost to Whitefish Bay, 132-48, on Sept. 10, but coach Danielle Peiffer said “the score doesn’t completely capture the progress we’re making.”

All the Pirates’ relays set a personal record, and many events had time drops, she said.

Freshman Stephanie Schlessinger won the diving competition with 152.45 points.

Kamryn Lapacaek took second in the 200-meter freestyle race in a personal-record 2 minutes 15.88 seconds.

She also took second in the 100 freestyle in a PR 1:00.4.

Emma Huber was second in the 50 freestyle with a PR 28.39.

The 200 freestyle relay team of Lapacek, Huber, Josie Tetzlaff and Abbey Lotz was second in 1:56.21.

Allison Schmutzler took third in the 100 breaststroke in 1:29.19.

“We were very pleased with the girls’ performance at this tough meet,” Peiffer said.

The Pirates host an invite on Saturday and compete against 10 schools starting at 8 a.m. The North Shore Conference relays f are Sept. 26 in West Bend.
