County excels in mountain biking

Ozaukee County’s mountain biking teams competed at Eau Claire last weekend.

In the varsity girls’ race, Port Washington team member Emma Kasza-James took second place.

In the Division 2 junior varsity boys’ race, Kaden Kopp was seventh and Sam Strohl was 35th.

In the freshman race, Gabe Chandler was 48th.

In the eighth-grade girls’ race, Libby Holmes was 18th.

Harrison Ebbers was 12th in the eighth-grade boys’ race, followed by Griffen Sheriff, 40th; Brennan Shuster, 66th; Steele Ribbens, 72nd; and Finnegan Pashak, 90th.

Port is 12th in the Division 2 standings.

Ozaukee County Composite’s Samantha Madden was 23rd in the sixth-grade girls’ race. Hunter Thibert was 15th in the Division 2 junior varsity boys’ race.

Ozaukee County Composite is 46th in the team standings with only one high school rider.

Grafton’s Caleb Butler was 20th in the sixth-grade boys’ race.

Jacob Butler was sixth in the seventh-grade boys’ race, missing the podium by .47/100ths of a second.

The teams competes in Wausau this weekend.
