CORRECTION: Letter misquoted Stroebel         

A letter to the editor in the July 4 issue of Ozaukee Press, with the headline “As PFAS threaten Wisconsin, legislators shield the polluters,” misquoted State Sen. Duey Stroebel.

The letter quoted Stroebel incorrectly as saying he joined colleagues “in voting a veto of a bill that would have released $125 million” to address PFAS pollution.

In fact, Stroebel voted in favor of releasing the PFAS money.

In a news release dated May 14 Stroebel said, “Today, I joined my colleagues in the State Senate in voting to override a number of the Governor’s vetoes—including a veto of a bill that would have released $125 million to address PFAS contamination throughout the state.”
